With the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux and the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, Porsche offers a complete competition pyramid to drivers and teams in the Low Countries. The three competitions will start consecutively for four weeks and the Belgian NGT Racing will be present on all fronts. The runner-up of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux 2021, Glenn Van Parijs, is competing for the title in the fastest brand cup in the Benelux, the long-distance specialists Hans Thiers, Frank Thiers, Jeffrey Van Hooydonk and Christoff Corten are looking for the crown in the practical work and the racing entrepreneur Lowette wants to shine in the renewed Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux.

Team manager Marc Maton of NGT Racing knows what the challenge for this season is quite big:

“Glenn Van Parijs will indeed be back at the start of the high-profile Porsche brand competition. We had a strong season last season and came second in the final standings. That's what we are as a team, together with Glenn there is a huge place to do just one better, even though we know that the competition has only gotten stronger and so we will have to go up a gear to do better. we have a year more experience and we will use that experience to bridge the difference between one and two.”

In addition to the short sprint work, the use is indeed discussed in the NGT Racing program. In the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, NGT Racing works together with Russell Racing, the set around the brothers Hans and Frankers. Together with the experienced veterans Christoff Corten and Jeffrey Van Hooydonk they are manning the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup type 992, with the aim of winning the title. Of course, the 24 Hours of Zolder on August 13 and 14, is the possible part of the season and there will be NGT Racing with two more Porsches at the start.

Tailor-made competition for men's drivers

Last but not least there is the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, where Stijn Lowette will try to go for the title, of course also in a Porsche 911 GT Cup type 992. This new competition consists of five appointments, the entire program of which will be completed in one week. and the competition is targeting the real gentlemen drivers.

Stijn Lowette: “In 2020, in full corona pandemic, I drove my very first races in the Porsche one-make cup as a guest driver. I've made a lot of progress behind the wheel of the Porsche over the past few seasons, so now I think the time is right to take my chance. I will participate in the entire Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux and maybe even two meetings of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, always with the support of the experienced and strong team NGT Racing.”

Olivier Aerts, Series Manager Benelux of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux of the complete competition pyramid is completed and can only applaud that.

“We offer our customers, in this case the teams and their drivers, a wide range of competition with the various Porsche products. Every competition is different, with a different version, but always with the same high quality requirements. The fact that a team, such as NGT, completes programs in the three competitions, is a perfect touchstone for us and proof that we do indeed provide the right answers to the questions from the motorsport world. I am also pleased to see how diverse the profiles of their drivers are, ranging from young wolves, over experienced and successful routines to driven gentlemen drivers.”

The Porsche Sprint Challenge kicks off the 'Porsche' season in the Benelux with a first appointment on April 21 at Circuit Zandvoort, during the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux first sprint races on May 6 and 7 in Spa-Francorchamps, during the visit of the FIA WEC to the Belgian Ardennes.
